Oops!

I forgot to share with you the finished Hillside Baby Blanket I made for my friend’s first grandbaby that was born in July! I’m so sorry! 🙄 It honestly completely slipped my mind. It guess life just got in the way! LOL!

Anyways, you can grab a copy of this pattern for FREE right here on my website if you’d like to give it a try. 🙂 It looks difficult, but it’s not. It’s a combination of knit and purl stitches in a 18 row repeat. The finished size is approximately 30″ x 35″.

Happy knitting.

  • Is there an error in the written pattern? Should rows 14, 16, and 18 NOT start with a K3, rather end the row with K3? In order to get the basketweave effect…

Also, would you recommend a garter stitch border (5-10 rows/stitches deep) to prevent the borders from curling?

I am really looking forward to working this pattern. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  • Hi Diana,

I’m really enjoying your pattern — but I underestimated the amount of yarn needed and the vendor is out-of-stock for the color I’m using. I’ve ordered a contrast color and will create some color stripes to finish the blanket.

I did put a garter stitch border on the blanket and I see that it is more or less slightly flattening out the design across the blanket. I will make another blanket without the border to see the difference.

To increase the width of the blanket — do I need to add on in blocks of six stitches?

Many thanks for your support! I’ll send photos when they are finished.

    Thanks again!
    Susan
