Hello everyone.
I wanted to share with you one of the blankets I made for a Christmas gift.
I’m just thrilled with how it turned out and you can be sure I’ll be making one for myself! 😀
As most knitters know, when you use the stockinette stitch without some sort of border, your edges will curl. So when I was designing this blanket, I purposely didn’t add a border so the curled edges would create a soft, ripply edge on the blanket.
So if you want to make one too, here’s what you’ll need to know!
I used 5 balls of Caron Simply Soft yarn in Autumn Red and US size 8 circular needles (36″),
Cast on 200 stitches.
Row 1 – 20: Knit 20, Purl 20 across the row
Row 21 – 40: Purl 20, Knit 20 across the row
Repeat above pattern until you have come to the end of the 5 balls
Cast off on row 40.
The finished size is 43″w X 55″ l.
Well off to try and get my second blanket done in time for Christmas. Wish me luck! LOL!
Happy knitting!
