Baby blanket…done!

Hello everyone!

I was happy I found some time today to do some knitting.

I managed to finish the baby blanket I was making for my husband’s co-worker.

The blanket is based on a pattern I found on Pinterest. Click HERE to read it.

It’s super easy to follow. Instead of adding 3 stripes at the one corner, I did one big stripe in off white.

I used Caron Simply Soft yarn and US size 8 needles.

I have a pattern that’s due mid August for Paintbox Yarns and I’m “this close” to getting it done, so off I go to finish it!

Happy knitting.

Sunday knitting & a baby blanket…

Hello everyone!

Since starting a new job recently, I don’t have nearly as much time as I used to to knit. 😦 So it’s turning out that Sundays are my knitting days.

Today I’ve started a baby blanket.

My husband’s co-worker is expecting a baby in October and since I  LOVE knitting baby blankets,  I thought I would knit one for him and his wife.

They don’t know the gender of the baby, so I chose this beautiful green yarn by Caron as opposed to the standard gender neutral yellow.  I adore the vibrancy of this colour!

I got the idea for this blanket from one I saw on Pinterest.  I really liked it because the body of the blanket is knit on a diagonal.  If you would like to make one too, you can click here for the pattern.

Off to work on the blanket some more.  It’s a hot one today, so I’ll be staying indoors!

Happy knitting!

New blanket done and book coming soon…

Hello there!

Well, I’ve completed another baby blanket and will now be writing a pattern for it.

The pattern will be part of a PDF book that I’m creating – “The Big Book of Baby Blankets & Bunting Bags”.

Introducing the “Lavender Fields Baby Blanket”.

This moss stitch blanket has been double knit using the super soft Caron Simply Soft yarn and US size 10.5 needles. It’s completely reversible and nice and cushy!

Buffalo Check cup cozy…

Good morning everyone.

Well, I managed to get 1 of the 2 patterns written this week.  I guess that’s better than none! LOL!  I was really hoping to launch both at one time but that just didn’t happen.

So my “Buffalo Check Cup Cozy” pattern is now available for purchase on loveknitting.com, in my Etsy store and on Craftsy.

It’s such a fun and quick project! Perfect for your leftover yarn!

Oh! And stay tuned! Next week my pattern I designed for Paintbox Yarns will be launching!

Something new…

Hello there!

Well I’ve been commissioned to create something I haven’t made before – a messy bun hat!

Here’s a picture of the nearly finished piece.

DSCN5171

I was given a photo and asked if I could make it, and I said “Sure! I can try!” It’s not exactly the same as the photo I was shown, but I’m liking how it’s turning out!

Hopefully the client will like it too! 😉  I’m making it with super soft Caron yarn.

Happy knitting!

Pretty in pink…

Hello there.

So, I’ve finished my pink blanket! 😀

It’s so pretty and soft! I just love how it turned out.

Using US size 8 circular needles, I casted on 135 stitches and followed the pattern below.

Row 1 – knit 3, purl 3 across the row

Row 2 – knit 3, purl 3 across the row

Row 3 – purl 3, knit 3 across the row

Row 4 – purl 3, knit 3 across the row

I used Caron Simply Soft premium acrylic yarn – 1 ball of Watermelon and 2 balls of Soft Pink.  The finished blanket measures 33″ X 44″.  The perfect sized crib blanket or toddler blanket.

I’ve been toying with the idea of selling on Etsy, and have finally decided to do it.  I love making things and most times don’t have anyone to gift the items to!

So with that being said, if you know of someone interested in this blanket, it’s for SALE!

Happy knitting!
