Wellβ¦maybe I was a little too hasty when I said I wouldnβt be writing patterns anymore. Maybe I just needed a break.
- A break from thinking about patterns.
- A break from taking photos for patterns.
- A break from constantly coming up with new ideas.
- A break from feeling like I had to keep up with what social media wanted from me.
Just a nice, long break.
Lately, Iβve been making items to sell, and Iβve actually been really enjoying it. Iβve sold a couple of pieces, and Iβll continue making and selling things here and there.
But Iβm also going to start writing patterns again.
I miss it.
The difference this time is that Iβm going to do it on my time. Iβll write a pattern when Iβm inspired to write one. I wonβt be worrying about whether Iβm releasing enough, posting enough, or keeping up with some imaginary schedule.
Iβve seen so many knitters lately talking about how pressured they feel by social media, and I think thatβs exactly what was happening to me too. Somewhere along the way, something I loved started feeling like something I had to keep up with.
Taking a step back has reminded me that slowing down and actually enjoying the process makes me more creative.
So yesβ¦you can look forward to new, easy, beginner-friendly patterns from me again!
But I have absolutely no idea when theyβll be coming out.
Theyβll be released when theyβre ready.
Some patterns might take months and months to make their way into the world. Others might come together much faster. And thatβs okay.
No rushing. No pressure. Just creating when the inspiration strikes and enjoying the process along the way.
And honestly?
Iβm excited.
I hope you are too! β€οΈ
