Maybe I just needed a break…

Well…maybe I was a little too hasty when I said I wouldn’t be writing patterns anymore. Maybe I just needed a break.

  • A break from thinking about patterns.
  • A break from taking photos for patterns.
  • A break from constantly coming up with new ideas.
  • A break from feeling like I had to keep up with what social media wanted from me.

Just a nice, long break.

Lately, I’ve been making items to sell, and I’ve actually been really enjoying it. I’ve sold a couple of pieces, and I’ll continue making and selling things here and there.

But I’m also going to start writing patterns again.

I miss it.

The difference this time is that I’m going to do it on my time. I’ll write a pattern when I’m inspired to write one. I won’t be worrying about whether I’m releasing enough, posting enough, or keeping up with some imaginary schedule.

I’ve seen so many knitters lately talking about how pressured they feel by social media, and I think that’s exactly what was happening to me too. Somewhere along the way, something I loved started feeling like something I had to keep up with.

Taking a step back has reminded me that slowing down and actually enjoying the process makes me more creative.

So yes…you can look forward to new, easy, beginner-friendly patterns from me again!

But I have absolutely no idea when they’ll be coming out.

They’ll be released when they’re ready.

Some patterns might take months and months to make their way into the world. Others might come together much faster. And that’s okay.

No rushing. No pressure. Just creating when the inspiration strikes and enjoying the process along the way.

And honestly?

I’m excited.

I hope you are too! ❤️

My second pattern re-do complete…

My Demi Gloves pattern re-do is now done.

The pattern will be staying the same so you can still purchase it, it just won’t have really nice photos. 😉

I’m going through some of the first patterns I wrote to update the photos but also the pattern itself if needed. I want to make sure my instructions are clear.

I still have a few more patterns to re-do, but also new patterns to write up, so it’ll be a busy year for me.

I’m hoping to book a photo session late Spring so I can get everything updated and published by Fall. That’s the plan anyway.

Well, I have a lot of knitting to do and it won’t get done on it’s own, so off I go.

Have a great weekend and happy knitting.

2 new patterns coming soon…

Hello everyone!

I’ve finally completed one project I’m writing a pattern for. Yay! I just have to sew it up, take photos and write out the pattern.

Here’s a sneak peek.

I’ve also started another project I’ll be writing a pattern for.  It’s a baby blanket.  It’s double knit so it will be SUPER thick. I’ve knit it on smaller needles resulting in a tight knit so those little fingers can’t get caught in it.  It’s also so cushy you can use it for a play mat.  😀

So stay tuned!  The patterns will be available on loveknitting.com, Ravelry and in my Etsy shop.

Off to get these done. 😉

Happy knitting!

Hello!

I just wanted to share with you some cushions that were made by a customer using my “Horizon” cushion cover pattern and my “Sunset” cushion cover pattern.

She changed the colours up to co-ordinate with her decor and they turned out absolutely amazing!
