PATTERN RELEASE – Summer Breeze Bolero

Hello everyone!

I’m thrilled to let you know my Summer Breeze Bolero pattern is now available!

Head on over to lovecrafts.com and get your copy for FREE!

And a huge thank you to Paintbox Yarns for the yarn support! Their Cotton DK yarn was wonderful to work with.

This is an intermediate pattern involving yarn overs, slipped stitches and passing slipped stitches over, however, I made a little video showing you how to do the more difficult stitches, so I suggest you give it a try even if you’re a beginner knitter! I really hope you do!

Now off to finish up other patterns I’ve only half completed! LOL! Have a great day everyone.

Happy knitting!

Spring is in the air…

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on a new spring knitting pattern using Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Robin’s Egg Blue. It’s such a beautiful colour and such a great name!

I don’t usually do lacey knits, but thought I would give it try.

Here’s a bit of a sneak peek. The front panels are almost done and I’ll be starting on the back this weekend.

Well off to keep working on this.

Have a great Saturday!

Happy knitting.

Ruana update…

Hi everyone!

I’ve started on the back of my Ruana so I was able to sort of try it on.

I think I’m in love! ❤

I’ve always just sold patterns but I’m thinking I might start selling finished products. Maybe just one item instead of trying to sell a ton of different things. I’m thinking the one thing I might want to sell are these Ruanas. 🤔

The turnaround time would be about 4 weeks for a custom order so I could only take about 1 order per month. I’m hoping to have a couple already made though if I launch a little shop.

I’m very undecided at this time but if anyone has any suggestions or experiences you would like to share, I would be happy to hear them.

For now, off to work more on this Ruana!

Happy knitting.

My yarn arrived…

Hello everyone!

This big box of beautiful yarn arrived on my doorstep this morning!

DSCN5863

Loveknitting.com sent it to me for FREE in exchange for a yarn review!  Not a bad deal if I do say so myself! 😉

I selected a yarn I’ve never used before just to try something new.  It’s “Hometown USA” by Lion Brand in “Vermont Green” and it’s super chunky.  And guess what?? It’s ON SALE right now over at Loveknitting.com!!

I know EXACTLY what I want to make with it and will hopefully get it started this weekend!

In way of a review; a full one will be done once I start knitting with it, but what I can tell you right now, is it’s amazingly soft and the colour is very vibrant.

Stay tuned for more…

Main Street Yarns…

Good afternoon!

One of the many things I love about being a designer over at loveknitting.com is, every once in a while, I get to try out new yarns!

These samples of Main Street Yarns “Shiny & Soft” just arrived last week in the mail.

DSCN5714

It’s seriously some of the softest yarn I’ve ever felt!! It’s just lovely!

I was generously sent 3 balls of yarn (at a whopping 365 yards per ball!), so I’ve decided to make myself a second Back Porch Shawl. 🙂

In my last post, I mentioned I wanted to make another one, but a little longer, and I’ll have enough of the Main Street yarn to do just that.

And because I’ve had such a great response to my original Back Porch Shawl (thank you so very much 😀 ), I will be creating a PDF pattern for the Back Porch Shawl that will be available for FREE!

So off I go to get this shawl finished and the pattern written!

Happy knitting!

Look at the wonderful Paintbox yarn I just received!

DSCN5655

I’m going to be designing another pattern for Paintbox Yarns and couldn’t be more thrilled! 😀

It’s not scheduled to be released until early Fall, but I’ll certainly be sharing sneak peeks with you along the way!

If you’ve never tried Paintbox Yarns, they are SUPER soft and very reasonably priced.  I love working with them!

Slippery cup cozy solution…

Hey there!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday so far.

I’m sitting here with my Tim Horton’s coffee and using my favourite cup cozy! 😀

But I did find, after using it for a bit, two things happened.

  1. It stretched out after a few uses
  2. I had a hard time picking my coffee up from the centre because it was a bit slippery on most paper cups.

Not good.

So, I came up with a simple solution that solves both these problems!

SOCK STOP!!

I purchased some “Rico Sock Stop” a while ago to put on the bottoms of slippers and socks I made so they wouldn’t be so slippery on hard surfaces.  I thought this should also work to keep my cup cozy from slipping on my coffee cup even if it stretched out a bit.  AND IT DOES!!

Just apply little lines of the Sock Stop on the inside of your cup cozy and let it dry 8 – 10 hours.  I applied it on one side first, let it dry, then applied it on the other side.

DSCN5585 - CopyYou can still machine wash your cup cozy but you will have to lay it flat to dry.  I, of course, have quite the collection of cup cozies, so waiting a day for a cup cozy to dry is nothing. 😉

I bought my Rico Sock Stop at loveknitting.com.  You can click here to get yours!DSCN5591So grab some “Rico Sock Stop” , gather up your cup cozies and get the insides of them lined!

You’ll be happy you did!
