Slippery cup cozy solution…

Hey there!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday so far.

I’m sitting here with my Tim Horton’s coffee and using my favourite cup cozy! 😀

But I did find, after using it for a bit, two things happened.

  1. It stretched out after a few uses
  2. I had a hard time picking my coffee up from the centre because it was a bit slippery on most paper cups.

Not good.

So, I came up with a simple solution that solves both these problems!

SOCK STOP!!

I purchased some “Rico Sock Stop” a while ago to put on the bottoms of slippers and socks I made so they wouldn’t be so slippery on hard surfaces.  I thought this should also work to keep my cup cozy from slipping on my coffee cup even if it stretched out a bit.  AND IT DOES!!

Just apply little lines of the Sock Stop on the inside of your cup cozy and let it dry 8 – 10 hours.  I applied it on one side first, let it dry, then applied it on the other side.

I bought my Rico Sock Stop at loveknitting.com.  You can click here to get yours!DSCN5591So grab some “Rico Sock Stop” , gather up your cup cozies and get the insides of them lined!

You’ll be happy you did!

Colourful dish cloths…

Good morning!

I just wanted to share some dish cloths that I made for my neighbour.

She is the sweetest lady always baking us cookies, so I wanted to make something for her to say “Thank you”.

The pattern for the dish cloth is FREE and you can find it here.

I used Rico Creative Cotton Aran for the dish cloths that I purchased from loveknitting.com.

They have so many different colours and it’s great to work with.

So I’ve decided that 2017 is going to be a year of knitting socks and pillow cushion covers.  I already have my first pillow cushion cover on the needles and a shopping cart of yarn over at loveknitting.com for the socks just waiting to be purchased (I want to get my pillow cushion cover done first, but I don’t know if I can wait!! LOL!!)

I hope you have plans to do a ton of knitting in 2017 too!

Happy New Year!

Quick weekend project…

Hi there.

Over the weekend, I decided to use up some cotton yarn I had left from another project and make a dish towel.

It was a really fast project and super simple utilizing only the Garter stitch (knitting every row).

I used Rico Creative Cotton Aran from loveknitting.com for this project.  It’s one of my favourite yarns to work with.

Well, off to start another dish towel.  This time I’m going to make one to go with the dish cloth I made the other weekend.

Happy knitting!

Another dishtowel…

Hello there!

I’ve completed another dish towel.

This is for one of the girls at work.  Her kitchen walls are a mustard colour and I was able to find a beautiful mustard coloured cotton yarn by Rico over at loveknitting.com!

I’ve also started another dishtowel for myself.  I’ll be writing a pattern for it too, so I’ll let you know when it’s available!

Well off to finish my dishtowel and get that pattern written.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Happy knitting!
