Hip to be Square Blanket…

So here’s the blanket that I made from all that cushy Bernat Softee Chunky yarn I bought from yarncanada.ca!

A lot of people were asking for the pattern so I have written it out below:

You will need 9.5 balls of Bernat Softee Chunky and US size 11 circular needles (to hold the stitches)

Cast on 100 stitches then K10, P10 across the row for 10 rows. After 10 rows, change to P10, K10 across the row.

Continue alternating between K10, P10 for 10 rows then P10, K10 for 10 rows until you’ve completed 22 squares.

Cast off in pattern.

The finished blanket is about 44″ x 55″

I hope you give this blanket a try.

I really love it and it’s my go to pattern for blankets these days!

Happy knitting!

Christmas presents???

Hi everyone!

September is right around the corner and this is when most knitters (including myself) start thinking about Christmas presents!

I have quite a few people I like to make presents for, so the sooner I start, the better.  I try to pick projects I know I can complete in a couple of days – scarves, hats, gloves, dish cloths, etc.

So, if you’re looking for a quick and easy project that would make a great Christmas gift, here’s a FREE pattern for a Chunky Knit Scarf.  You can click here for the pattern.

I used King Cole Super Chunky yarn I purchased from loveknitting.com.

And stay tuned because I’ll be sharing a new pattern soon! 😀

Happy knitting!

Baby blanket…

Hi there!

I’m just stopping by to share with you a baby blanket I made.

I’ll be making a few of them to send to my hometown’s hospital Neonatal department.  A friend back home asked on Facebook if anyone could help and I said I would.

I love making baby blankets, but the opportunity doesn’t arise too often so I jumped at the chance to make some for the hospital.

You can click here for the free pattern.

I used Stylecraft Special DK yarn in Lemon and Meadow green.  I double knit the blanket using 2 strands of yarn at one time to make it super cozy.  You can purchase the yarn over at loveknitting.com.

Happy knitting!

It’s not a towel…

Hello there!

A couple of days ago I shared a sneak peek with you of a project I was making that wasn’t a towel! LOL!!

Here it is!  I made a scarf! Yes, I know it’s the beginning of summer, however, scarves are always a simple and quick project and I wanted to start something I knew I could complete!!  😉 I used a super chunky yarn which made the project go even faster!

I used King Cole Super Chunky yarn that I purchased at loveknitting.com.   It’s so so soft!!

I also created a pattern for the scarf and it’s available for FREE right here!

So head on over to loveknitting.com and get yourself some yarn! It’s never too early to start those Christmas presents!

Happy knitting!
