Hello there!
It’s free pattern Friday today and I’m sharing with you my Classic 2-Tone Baby Blanket. Click here for the pattern.
This is my most popular pattern over at loveknitting.com being downloaded 575 TIMES in the last year! Isn’t that crazy??!!
I hope you give it a try! If you do, please share it on my Facebook page!
Happy knitting!
This is my first attempt to follow a pattern so would you mind clarifying the number of cast ons necessary? You say in the pattern to cast on 100 stitches of the dark color, will this become 50 double stitches or do I need to double the number of stitches to end up with 100 double stitches? Also, the instructions about which side the cast on tail should be at the end of a row doesn’t make sense. Please help!

Hello Meaghann. Thank you for reaching out. You will cast on 100 double stitches with the dark coloured yarn. Holding 2 strands of yarn together, cast on 100 stitches as you would a single strand of yarn. I hope that is more clear.
And when you cast on, you usually have a cast on “tail”. In the pattern, I say to end on the opposite end of your cast on “tail”. So when holding your left needle, the cast on tail will be in the left corner of your piece and this is the side I want you to start your knit 12, purl 76, knit 12 sequence.
I hope this helps but if you need more clarification, don’t hesitate to reach out again.
