First one done…

My first pattern re-do is done!

Now to update the pattern then into the photo shoot pile it goes.

I hope to get a few more patterns redone over the Christmas holidays so I can book a photo shoot early in the New Year.

Here’s a peek at the updated “Hooded Scarf”.

Happy knitting!

Test knit…

I’m loving this “Into the Wind” scarf I’m test knitting for Ann at AEKknits.

The lacy pattern is just lovely.

It uses a lightweight yarn but with larger needles to really play up the laciness. (is that even a word? LOL!)

The pattern is going to be released mid November!

You’ll definitely need to get a copy!

I hope everyone has been busy knitting! I’ve started my Christmas knitting. Have you?

It was so fun to make…

Hey everyone!

The Sherbrooke Scarf was SO fun to make, I had to make a second one!

For this one, I used a denim blue instead of the dark grey and added golden yellow pom poms instead of the bright pink!

I could make these scarves all day!

Would anyone like one? LOL!! I need a reason to make some more! 😀

The Sherbrooke Scarf…

Hello everyone!

I’ve completed a new pattern and I really think this is going to become everyone’s go to scarf this winter! 😀

It’s big! It’s cushy! And it’s FUN!! And it’s the perfect weekend project.

I used Red Heart Soft Essential yarns for this pattern, but a great alternative would be Stylecraft Special Chunky yarns.

The pattern is for sale over at lovecrafts.com, on Ravelry and in my Etsy shop.

Happy knitting!

I’ve been busy, but not with knitting…

I can’t believe it’s almost a month since I posted anything!

I’m still knitting (LOL), but quite sparingly, as we brought home this cutie just 4 weeks ago and he has taken up ALL of our time!

IMG_20181013_1151405

His name is Sam and he’s a standard poodle.

He’s settled in now and is on a schedule so I know when he naps, which is right now! 😀 Hence why I’m able to write a blog post!

I’m working away on my Downtown Mission hats and have started a scarf/wrap? out of leftover yarn I’ve had in my stash.  I’m using 3 strands of yarn at one time for some really unique colouring and a piece that has some amazing weight to it for warmth.  I’m thinking I may use it as a wrap instead of a scarf as I didn’t follow a pattern and the amount of stitches I used created something I think may be too wide for a scarf.  I’ll see when I’m done.

DSCN8242So, I’m going to take advantage of Sam’s nap time and get some more knitting in.

Have a great day!

Christmas presents???

Hi everyone!

September is right around the corner and this is when most knitters (including myself) start thinking about Christmas presents!

I have quite a few people I like to make presents for, so the sooner I start, the better.  I try to pick projects I know I can complete in a couple of days – scarves, hats, gloves, dish cloths, etc.

So, if you’re looking for a quick and easy project that would make a great Christmas gift, here’s a FREE pattern for a Chunky Knit Scarf.  You can click here for the pattern.

I used King Cole Super Chunky yarn I purchased from loveknitting.com.

And stay tuned because I’ll be sharing a new pattern soon! 😀

Happy knitting!

and then there were 4…

Hi there.

Since my last post I finished up my Dad’s scarf for Christmas.

This was so fun to make and is the perfect idea for those little balls of yarn you can’t really make anything from.

To make this scarf, cast on 40 stitches using size 8 needles with 2 strands of yarn at one time.  I used 2 different colours at one time.  The yarn I used is DK yarn which is a thinner yarn.  It would also be known as a size 3 yarn. Knit every row (the garter stitch) and when one colour runs out, tie on another one and keep going!  You can make it as long as you want.

A perfect stash-busting project!

Happy knitting!
