The Honey Hat…

Hello there!

So, I’ve finished the pattern for my messy bun hat.  I call it the “Honey” hat!

I have the pattern up for sale over at Craftsy.com , at loveknitting.com and in my Etsy store.

I used “Caron Simply Soft” yarn for this hat so it’s super cozy!

Thank you for all the interest in the hat and I would love to see your finished piece if you make one.

Be sure to share a  photo of it on my Facebook page!

Happy knitting!

The Sweater hat…

Hi there!

I can’t believe it’s December on Thursday and I’ve only just begun making my Christmas presents.

Not to say I haven’t been knitting, because I have; only I’ve made hats for my husband and son because the weather had taken a turn for the colder!!

The hat I made for my husband was inspired by his favourite sweater!  I really liked how it turned out so I wrote a pattern for it! 😀

It’s double knit using 2 strands of yarn at one time making it super warm!

You can find the pattern here over at loveknitting.com.

I have my sister and brother-in-law coming this weekend and I have to get their presents done so I’ll be knitting like a crazy lady for the next few days!

Cheers!

now down to 3…

I’m happy to say I’ve completed ANOTHER of my projects!

The cute little beanie and bunting bag I was commissioned to make is now done!

I’ve written a pattern for it so you can make one too! It’s super easy since it’s knit on straight needles and uses only knit and purl stitches.  PERFECT for the beginner knitters!!

Click here for the pattern!  You will be re-directed to the loveknitting.com website.

Happy knitting!

I’ve been commissioned…

So, I’ve been commissioned for the very first time to make some baby gifts.  Cool eh?? 😀

A friend sent me some pictures of what she was looking for and asked me if I could make them.  I said “Sure. Why not? I think I can do this. I have no pattern, but I’ll give it a go.”

Here’s one of the little hats.  I’m almost done.  Just have to sew it up and put on the pom-pom.

Next I’m going to start on the bunting bag to go with it.

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! It’s raining here so a great day to stay inside and knit!

Cheers!

Coming along…

Hello there!

So the hat my girlfriend asked me to knit for her is done!

DSCN2619

And her infinity scarf is half way done!

DSCN2620

The hat was double knit using a parchment coloured DK yarn and I added a cream coloured pom-pom.  So wanting to make the infinity scarf co-ordinate with the hat, I used the same yarn colours, adding a band of cream to the parchment scarf, and used the same stitch on both (garter stitch).

My girlfriend requested the infinity scarf be wide and it is, measuring 1o”! It’s going to be one big, cozy scarf! I’ll post more photos when I’m done!

If you would like to knit your own hat while waiting for me to finish the scarf, you can find the pattern here.  It’s really super easy and you’ll be done in no time!

Happy knitting!

A blanket, a hat and some socks! Oh my…

Hello everyone!

Just to let you know, I’m still working on my blanket (LOL) and I did get a bit more done, but I got distracted by some beautiful teal yarn I bought a while ago and started making a hat!

This yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% Alpaca.  I’m allergic to wool but “they” say Alpaca is hypoallergenic! I thought I would try knitting with an Alpaca blend first before embarking on any projects that are 100% Alpaca just to make sure I didn’t have a reaction to it.  So far, so good!

I just love the texture!

My husband has also been asking me to make him another pair of socks.  He got the first pair I made, but they’re very loose as the yarn I used was too thin.  The sock pattern uses a different size needle than the hat, so I thought, why not? Let’s start those too!!

So needless to say, I now have 3 projects on the go! But I love it! It gives me variety!

Well off to work on the socks now.  I’m at the part where I have to pick up stitches and I’m not very good at doing this yet so I prefer to do this during the day when I have the most light.  Nothing worse then trying to make new stitches when you can’t see what you’re doing! LOL!

Happy knitting!

It’s going slower than I thought…

Well it’s been a few days since I picked up my blanket to finish it, and I’m not even close to done yet!

I think because it’s such a BIG blanket, I get a little bored with knitting it.  I’m only using 1 colour of yarn right now and the same stitch over and over.  There’s not a lot of variety.  Maybe I shouldn’t have tried to make it so big. LOL!!

So, to break up the monotony a bit, I started knitting a pair of fingerless gloves to go with this cute hat I made a while ago.

Here’s the hat.  It’s a beautiful camel colour and super cushy  because I used 2 strands of DK yarn at one time to knit it.

And here’s the start of the gloves.

Well, I’m off to work a bit on the blanket and then on the gloves and then back to the blanket!!

I’m sure hoping to get the blanket done before the end of this year!! 😉

Happy knitting!
