Hello everyone!
The new pink yarn I bought the other day was calling my name, so despite having 2 other projects on the go, I had to start the baby blanket. 😉
I’m using a basket stitch pattern that creates a soft ripply texture. Perfect for a baby blanket.
BASKET STITCH PATTERN:
Cast on multiple of 6 stitches plus 3
ROW 1: Knit 3, purl 3, knit 3 across the row
ROW 2: Knit 3, purl 3, knit 3 across the row
ROW 3: Purl 3, knit 3, purl 3 across the row
ROW 4: Purl 3, knit 3, purl 3 across the rowRepeat the above 4 rows to create the pattern.
Well, off to do some more knitting. I don’t knit with pink very often, so I’m pretty excited!

In my last post, I said I was was going to create another set of cushion covers inspired by purple wildflowers.
But, I’ve decided to put that collection on hold. I’ve made so many cushion covers lately, I wanted to make something else.
I decided to make another baby blanket (have I ever said how much I enjoy making baby blankets??) 😉 and purchased some new yarn today.
I have no idea who this blanket will be for, so if you know someone who can use a pink baby blanket, just send them my way!

So here’s the start of the third cushion cover in the “Seaside” collection.

I have a long drive into work now that we’ve moved, and I’ve been very inspired by some wildflowers I’ve seen growing along the sides of the county roads.
Here’s the colour palette of my next collection of cushion covers.
I have ideas in my mind of how I would like the cushions covers to look, but I don’t know yet how to bring my ideas to life, but I’ll figure it out!!
Off to finish this last cushion cover so I can get started on the new collection.

I created it to go with the “Lost At Sea” cushion cover. I used 100% Rico cotton. I just LOVE this yarn! It knits up so well.

I managed to finish my cushion this weekend.
Here it is!
I had initially thought that the natural end with the navy stripe would be the top, but when I placed it next to the first cushion I designed, it didn’t quite look right. So, I turned it over, and viola, I love it!!
The “Horizon” pattern will be coming soon.

I just wanted to pop in and give you a peek at the second cushion cover in the set I’m designing. I just have to finish sewing up the sides and pop in a cushion!
I call this one “Horizon” and I’ll be writing a pattern for it also.
Once I have this cushion completed, I’ll share some photos of it along with the first cushion I made.

I just wanted to stop by quickly and show you the finished blanket I made for my second Facebook “Pay it Forward” gift.
I used 4 balls of Bernat Super Value yarn and US size 8 circular knitting needles.
I casted on 180 stitches and slipped the first stitch purl wise, knitted across the row, then purled the last stitch. I did this for every row creating a garter stitch blanket with an I-cord edge.
When I came close to the end of one colour and wanted to add my next colour, I knit 2 rows of my one colour, then 2 rows of my next colour and I did this twice so you would have 2 stripes of the new colour intertwined with 2 stripes of the colour before.
This one is heading to Sault Ste. Marie for my godson and his family. 😀
