A tower of towels…

Good afternoon everyone!

So I’ve completed all the towels for my co-workers.

I really hope they love using them as much as I love using mine!

If you’d like to make your own dish towel, you can find my pattern here.

I still have to make one more towel using a  new pattern I created, but since I’ve made so many towels lately, I’ve started another project to mix things up a bit.

Here’s a sneak peek.

Once I’m done this project, I’ll be offering the pattern for free so stay tuned! 😀

Well, off to get this finished and the pattern written.

Happy knitting!

A new pattern…almost

Hi there!

I’ve finished the dish towel for myself, BUT…it didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted it to.  For the stripes, I used a light cream cotton and a light grey cotton and I don’t think there’s enough contrast in the colours.  I would like to see more contrast.

Sooo, I’ll be adjusting the pattern a bit that I wrote and making another towel to showcase it.

I promise once this is done, I’ll share the pattern.

In the meantime, here’s my new towel.

Happy knitting!

Another dishtowel…

Hello there!

I’ve completed another dish towel.

This is for one of the girls at work.  Her kitchen walls are a mustard colour and I was able to find a beautiful mustard coloured cotton yarn by Rico over at loveknitting.com!

I’ve also started another dishtowel for myself.  I’ll be writing a pattern for it too, so I’ll let you know when it’s available!

Well off to finish my dishtowel and get that pattern written.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Happy knitting!

A change of heart…

Hey there.

A couple of weeks back I posted that I was doing a lot of behind the scenes work; that I was working on creating an on-line shop.

Well, after more thought, I decided not to do a shop.  I decided to focus on writing patterns instead…patterns for beginner knitters just like me.  😀

My patterns are for sale over at loveknitting.com and I offer others for free on this site.  You can click here to check them out.

And make sure you come back again soon, as I have about 4 new patterns in the works.

Happy knitting!

The “Mattress” stitch…

Hi there!

I often talk about the “mattress” or “invisible” stitch in my patterns thinking you know exactly what I’m talking about, but I’ve had some people ask me how to do it.

Since I feel it’s easier to learn this by watching, I thought I would share the video I watched to learn.

Click here to watch the video.

You would use this method when sewing together a piece you created using the stockinette stitch.

Happy knitting!

Behind the scenes…

Hi everyone!

I know I haven’t posted anything in over a week, but I’m still working on knitting projects.

DSCN2907A grey and cream dish towel for a co-worker.

DSCN2911And a pair or teal and spice fingerless gloves.

I’ve also been doing some behind the scenes work on my blog.

If  you click here, you’ll see what I’ve been up to. 😀 THE “BUY NOW” BUTTONS ARE ACTIVE ON THE PAGES, SO PLEASE DON’T CLICK ON THEM.  Not unless you want to purchase something that is!!  LOL!

I’m so excited that I’ll be offering products for sale this year!

Now off to take some photos and to finish up at least one of my many half done projects!

Happy knitting!

Dish towel set…

Hi there!

I’m finished the second dish towel in my set.

I used the same colours as in my first towel, but reversed them.

DSCN2839

I didn’t have enough of the dark brown cotton yarn left to make a full third stripe, so I just knit 2 rows instead of the eight that the pattern calls for.  I still really like how it turned out.

For these towels, I used Rico Creative Cotton yarn available over at loveknitting.com. It’s easy to work with and washes up beautifully!

Off to make more dish towels, but this time for the girls at work!

Happy knitting!

My yarn arrived…

So my order of yarn finally arrived the other day from loveknitting.com and I was able to finish my dish towel I was making!

I have already used it and now it’s my absolute favourite!

And of course I’ve started a second one to make a set! 😀

It’s so super easy you should make one too!  Click here for the pattern!

waiting on yarn…

So, while waiting on a delivery of yarn from loveknitting.com in order to complete my dish towel, I decided I would make a pair of fingerless gloves.  A super quick project especially since I knit 2 at a time!

The gloves are made from a lightweight DK yarn and are a great weight to use during these chilly Spring mornings!

You can find the pattern here.
